Police in Lower Silesia chase driver for 120 km

A 38-year-old man from Wrocław was apprehended following a high-speed police chase spanning approximately 120 km through several counties in Lower Silesia, including Jawor, Kamienna Góra, and Wałbrzych. The pursuit began on a Friday night after officers from Środa Śląska attempted to stop a vehicle due to faulty license plate lighting.

The driver ignored commands and fled, creating significant road hazards and causing a minor collision with a police cruiser. The chase ended in Boguszów-Gorce, where local patrols successfully detained the individual.

Investigations revealed the man was already wanted by a court to serve a six-month prison sentence for driving despite a judicial ban. Additionally, his driving privileges had been revoked in 2022. While he did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol, police have ordered blood tests to check for narcotics. He faces potential charges including failure to stop for a police inspection, endangering road safety, and driving without a valid license, which could result in up to five years in prison and a lifetime driving ban.
