Police in Maipú, Argentina seize weapons and arrest three suspects

The Departmental Investigative Unit of Maipú (UID) carried out raids on two residences in the city’s Pellegrini street as part of a case involving aggravated threats with firearms. The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals, including two alleged perpetrators, and the seizure of multiple weapons: a .38 revolver, a .22 pistol, a double‑barrel shotgun and a .22 caliber carbine, along with 429 cartridges of various calibers. The seized firearms were taken into police custody and will be held by the justice system while the investigation continues under the direction of the intervening court.

The case originated from a complaint filed at the Maipú Fiscal Office, which prompted the UID and the General Directorate of Investigations to identify suspects and locate the linked dwellings. The judicial authorization allowed the coordinated search, which also gathered additional evidence to advance the case and remove the weapons from circulation.
