Police in Poland penalize drivers for illegal plates and speeding

Police in Poland have intercepted two drivers involved in significant traffic violations.

In Jastrzębie-Zdrój, officers stopped a Ford on Cieszyńska Street after discovering the vehicle was using illegal license plates belonging to a Toyota. The 42-year-old driver, who also lacked mandatory insurance, admitted to the switch. In addition to fines for speeding and driving without documents, the case regarding the mismatched plates will be referred to court, where the driver faces potential imprisonment of three months to five years.

In a separate incident in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region, a 50-year-old driver was caught traveling at 134 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. Because the driver is a repeat offender, the financial penalty was doubled to 5,000 PLN. The individual also received 15 penalty points and a three-month driving ban.
