Romania police report widespread traffic violations and DUI arrests

Law enforcement agencies across Romania have reported a series of traffic violations, including driving under the influence, driving without a license, and aggressive driving behaviors.

In Pitești, three young drivers aged 19 to 21 had their licenses suspended for 30 days following aggressive driving and excessive tire spinning. In Hunedoara, police opened criminal cases against drivers for alcohol consumption and driving with suspended licenses. Similar incidents involving alcohol were reported in Dâmbovița and Sibiu, where some drivers refused biological sample collection.

Other notable incidents include a 42-year-old driver in Corbeni who was caught speeding and testing positive for psychoactive substances, and a 33-year-old man in Vorona who was detained after crashing into a parked car while driving under the influence. Additionally, a 59-year-old man in Brașov was caught driving without a license despite a prior definitive conviction for the same offense.
