Police in Slovakia and Czech Republic crack down on underage drinking
Police in Slovakia and the Czech Republic have conducted several preventive operations targeting underage alcohol consumption and public order during the summer period.
In Slovakia, authorities in Skalica, Holíč, and Radošovce tested 43 minors, finding 18 who had consumed alcohol. The highest recorded level was 1.77 promille in a 17-year-old. Cases are being referred to social services.
In the Czech Republic, similar enforcement actions occurred in the Blansko and Strakonice regions. In Blansko, 11 minors tested positive for alcohol, with a peak reading of 1.39 promille. In Strakonice, police inspected a disco where 8 minors were found to have consumed alcohol, including one individual with a reading of 3.03 promille who required hospitalization.
