Police in Vietnam arrest multiple suspects for theft and illegal mercury trafficking

Authorities in Vietnam have apprehended several individuals involved in distinct criminal activities. In Da Nang, the Criminal Police Department identified a group of five teenagers responsible for a series of thefts at various businesses. The group, which included individuals born between 2011 and 2012, was found in possession of 20 mobile phones, 5.3 million VND, 20 USD, and 42,920 Thai Baht. The suspects, who reportedly lived a nomadic lifestyle, were handed over to local police for further investigation.

In Cao Bang province, police arrested eight individuals, including seven Vietnamese citizens and one Chinese national, for the illegal possession, sale, and transport of toxic substances. Authorities seized approximately 2 kilograms of mercury, which was being stored in soft drink bottles. The group, which includes Trương Thị Thúy and several others, is currently under investigation for trafficking the hazardous material.
