Police intensify traffic safety operations in Bavaria and South Tyrol

In Oberfranken, Bavaria, police concluded a month‑long road‑safety campaign with targeted truck inspections on the B173 near Schwarzenbach am Wald. More than 3,000 violations were recorded, including severe speed offences, breaches of social and residency rules, and checks of driver fitness and load security. The operation involved the traffic police of Hof and local officers from Naila, who also imposed security deposits on drivers lacking a German residence.

In South Tyrol, the Vinschgau local police reported a busy weekend of traffic and criminal enforcement. Officers stopped a 13‑year‑old driving a car, seized several grams of hashish and marijuana, and conducted extensive vehicle and person checks at the Stilfserjoch pass, reviewing over 80 individuals and numerous vehicles. Police also secured the international three‑country cycling race “Drei‑Länder‑Giro” without incident, while addressing multiple traffic accidents and burglaries.
