Police intercept motorcycle thieves in Valle de Aburrá

A police operation in the southern Valle de Aburrá region resulted in the capture of an 18-year-old man and the apprehension of a 17-year-old minor following a motorcycle theft spree.

Using video surveillance, the National Police tracked the suspects after they stole two motorcycles in Sabaneta and San Antonio de Prado. The pursuit culminated in a confrontation on the Avenida Regional, where the minor opened fire on officers. The teenager was wounded during the exchange and remains in medical care under arrest.

The 18-year-old suspect was taken into custody and found to have an outstanding judicial warrant from 2019. Authorities recovered both stolen vehicles and seized a firearm. Both individuals face charges of aggravated theft and illegal possession of weapons.
