Police Interventions in Ravenna Region Prevent Suicides and Assaults

In the days leading up to July 26, 2026, police officers in the Ravenna province responded to several emergency incidents. At Marina di Ravenna, State Police rescued a North‑African man who had jumped into the Candiano Canal in a suicide attempt, averting a fatal outcome. In Milano Marittima, two Bologna‑based officers performed CPR on an elderly woman who suffered respiratory arrest after a fall, keeping her alive until medical personnel arrived. In Cervia, members of the Highway Police and Carabinieri halted a young man who was roaming the streets naked, committing indecent acts and assaulting an elderly passerby.

The Autonomous Police Union (SAP) praised the officers for their professionalism and called for appropriate recognition of their work, noting the increasing social challenges posed by migration, demographic change, and public disorder that police must navigate daily.
