Police investigate burglaries in Sai Kung and gold robbery in Taiwan

In Sai Kung, Hong Kong, a series of burglaries occurred at two village houses on Tai Mong Tsai Road. The incidents resulted in a total loss of approximately 470,000 HKD, including cash, jewelry, and luxury watches. In the first house, thieves stole roughly 70,000 HKD in cash along with 250,000 HKD worth of jewelry and a watch. The second house was targeted for eight luxury watches valued at 150,000 HKD. The Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating the case.

In Taiwan, police have dismantled a criminal group responsible for a gold robbery in Kaohsiung. The incident, which occurred last October, involved a fraudulent cryptocurrency transaction. A suspect met a victim at a convenience store under the guise of exchanging 3.28 taels of gold (valued at approximately 560,000 TWD) for Tether (USDT). After using fire to verify the gold's authenticity, the suspect seized the gold and fled. Following a months-long investigation, the Southern Criminal Investigation Division arrested four members of the organized crime group on charges including robbery and money laundering.
