Mato Grosso surveillance program recovers 149 vehicles
The Vigia Mais MT program, a video monitoring initiative by the Mato Grosso State Public Security Secretariat (Sesp-MT), has assisted in the recovery of 149 vehicles between January and October this year. These recovered assets, including motorcycles, cars, pickups, and trucks, represent approximately R$ 7 million in restitution to society.
Of the recovered vehicles, 68 were identified as cloned. The program utilizes Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, which employs artificial intelligence to read license plates, alongside manual consultations by operators at the Integrated Public Security Operations Center (Ciosp).
Data from the program shows significant impact: in 2025, the initiative assisted in recovering 241 vehicles valued at roughly R$ 10.5 million, while in 2024, 146 vehicles were recovered with an estimated value of R$ 7.6 million.
