Argentina: Multiple arrests and legal proceedings in various crime cases FAST-MOVING

Authorities in Argentina have conducted several operations addressing different criminal activities. In Resistencia, two individuals, a 24-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, were arrested following three simultaneous raids. The investigation stems from a “motochorro” robbery on October 28, where a woman was robbed of $150,000 in cash, personal documents, and a passport. Police seized a red Honda Wave motorcycle, several cell phones, and cash during the operation.

In Rosario, the oral trial has commenced for three individuals accused of the September 2023 murder of police officer César Eduardo Carmona. The prosecution is seeking life imprisonment for the defendants, alleging the killing was a premeditated act to rob the officer near the Criminal Investigation Agency headquarters.

In Lomas de Zamora, a 58-year-old man was detained after allegedly making death threats against President Javier Milei, his sister Karina, and a local mayor via social media. During the raid, authorities seized electronic devices and a book by Adolf Hitler.

Other regional developments include the arrest of Esteban Siebenlist Bustos in Entre Ríos, linked to a major narcotics investigation, and the sentencing of two men in Young, Uruguay, to 20 months in prison for stealing cables. In Salta, a 26-year-old man received a sentence of 16 months for attempted robbery and assault against a teenager.
