Police investigate human remains in Mauritius and decapitation in Guinea

Police in Mauritius have launched an investigation after human remains, including a skull, were discovered in a residential garden in Quatre-Bornes. The discovery was made on Sunday, August 16, by a resident performing excavation work for planting. Forensic experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) are conducting post-mortem analyses, with preliminary indications suggesting the remains may have been at the site for over two years.

In a separate incident in Kankan, Guinea, authorities are investigating the decapitation of a man identified as Mory Soumaré. His body was found in a gutter under a footbridge in the Salamani district. According to local officials, the victim's head was missing from the scene. The victim's wife reported that he left their home after receiving a phone call on Monday night and entered a vehicle with one or more individuals. The motive and perpetrators remain unknown as investigations continue.
