Jewelry stores in Asunción and Vienna targeted in wall-breach robberies

In Asunción, Paraguay, criminals targeted the Vio Gold jewelry store early Wednesday morning. Five masked individuals reportedly overpowered a night watchman before gaining access to the premises by breaking a hole through a wall from an adjacent property. The thieves breached a safe in the storage room, escaping with jewelry and 500 million Guaranies. Although the alarm system, managed by Prosegur, was triggered, the owner did not discover the robbery until several hours later.

In Vienna, Austria, an unidentified group broke into a jewelry store in the Favoriten district on a Monday night. The perpetrators gained entry by creating a hole in a basement wall from a neighboring building. According to the owner, the thieves stole only watches. Police responded to the alarm and conducted a search of the area, but no suspects were located. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office is leading the investigation.
