Police investigate fatal machete attack in San Luis

The National Police are investigating the death of Treyson Torres Tamián, also known as Freddy, whose body was discovered in a vacant lot in the San Luis municipal district of Santo Domingo Este. Preliminary investigations suggest the victim had been involved in a discussion with an individual, potentially of Haitian nationality, before being attacked with a machete and a knife.

Torres Tamián, a motorcycle taxi driver, sustained multiple wounds to his back. His mother has expressed her grief and called for authorities to apprehend those responsible, noting that her son had no known conflicts and suggesting the motive might have been personal or sentimental. Police have recovered the suspected murder weapon from the scene and are working to corroborate witness testimonies and evidence to clarify the circumstances of the homicide.
