Police in Kenya are investigating multiple violent incidents across different counties. In Meru County, detectives arrested Solomon Kathurima Kairemia in connection with the August 7 murder of 65-year-old Evelyne Mukiri Mbaabu. Mbaabu was attacked in her kitchen in Kithoka, Imenti East Sub-County, while her 13-year-old grandson was present. Investigators recovered a blood-stained panga during the arrest, and Kairemia has been ordered to remain in custody for 14 days while investigations continue.

In Tharaka-Nithi County, authorities have launched an investigation after the body of an unidentified woman, believed to be approximately 25 years old, was discovered in a thicket near the Makutano-Kathangacini road in the Murowaitangi area. The body showed visible bruises, and police are investigating whether the woman was sexually assaulted before her death. The deceased has been moved to the Marimanti Level 4 Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
