Police investigate separate cases of violence against minors in Brazil
Authorities in Brazil are investigating two distinct incidents involving violence against children and adolescents.
In Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, São Paulo, a 36-year-old man admitted to assaulting his 11-year-old son with a slipper and a piece of wood. The incident occurred after the father discovered the child had spent approximately R$ 200 on the gaming platform Roblox without authorization. The child was taken to a medical facility where doctors identified injuries and alerted the Municipal Civil Guard.
In Sena Madureira, Acre, the Civil Police concluded an inquiry into an assault where a 13-year-old boy had his neck burned with a cattle branding iron. An adult and a minor have been indicted for bodily injury, with the adult also facing charges of corruption of minors. While the suspects initially described the event as a joke, the Police General Delegate characterized the act as a cruel crime committed in a rural area.
