Police investigate separate incidents in Kaltenweide and Karlsruhe

Authorities in Germany are investigating two distinct incidents involving criminal activity and explosive threats.

In Kaltenweide, unknown perpetrators broke into the vehicle hall of the Kaltenweide Volunteer Fire Department during the early hours of Sunday, October 25, 2026. The suspects gained entry by breaking a window in a women's restroom. Once inside, they attempted to steal a hydraulic spreader but failed. The individuals also sprayed the contents of a fire extinguisher before fleeing. This follows a separate incident between October 21 and 23, where a window was damaged at the Intercultural Experience Park (IKEP) in the same town.

In Karlsruhe, a large-scale police operation was triggered in the Waldstadt residential district following the discovery of a suspicious object. The item, which was wrapped in paper and resembled a cocktail shaker, had been seized during a prior police measure. Specialists from the State Criminal Police Office cordoned off the area around a local police station to ensure public safety. Experts successfully neutralized the object, which was identified as a homemade device. While no immediate danger to the population was reported, forensic experts are currently analyzing the chemical composition of the substance found inside.
