Police investigate separate murder plots in Rajasthan and Jharkhand

Authorities in India have uncovered two distinct criminal cases involving murder conspiracies and domestic violence.

In Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district, police arrested a woman’s father, uncle, and husband following a complex investigation. The case originated when a woman contacted an acquaintance via social media to request a contract killing of her husband. Investigation revealed the woman had been allegedly purchased as a minor for 400,000 rupees and forced into marriage with a man nearly twice her age. Police are now investigating charges of human trafficking, child marriage, and physical and mental abuse.

In Jharkhand’s Koderma district, police arrested a woman and her lover for the alleged murder of her husband, Naresh Thakur. Investigators claim the wife orchestrated the killing by luring her husband to a clinic under the guise of medical treatment, where the lover allegedly administered a lethal injection. The victim’s body was found in a discarded plastic bag within a closed stone quarry. Police have recovered the motorcycle used in the crime, as well as the victim’s mobile phone and wallet.
