Police extradite man from Poland for 2023 murder in NSW

NSW Police detectives have extradited a 26-year-old man from Poland to face murder charges in connection with the 2023 death of Darcy Schafer-Turner. The victim's body was discovered inside a metal cabinet floating in a creek near Macksville on the Mid-North Coast.

The investigation follows a drug-related dispute in which Schafer-Turner, 22, was allegedly suffocated. Previously, Zachary Richard Fraser was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for manslaughter, and Charles Dennis Turnbull was sentenced for his role as an accessory to manslaughter after being paid to dispose of the body.

Detectives traveled to Poland in September to arrest the suspect, who arrived in Sydney on Friday and was charged with murder. He is scheduled to appear in court this Saturday.
