Police investigate shooting in Maine and kidnapping in Massachusetts

In Maine, 19-year-old Zachary Shaw was arrested following an alleged drive-by shooting on Route 202 in Lebanon. Authorities report that a black sedan pulled alongside a vehicle around 2 a.m. on Saturday and fired two rounds. One bullet pierced the driver’s side door and another struck a tire, disabling the vehicle. No injuries were reported. Shaw was apprehended in Sanford after police stopped his vehicle, seizing a firearm and the car as evidence. He faces charges of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and criminal mischief, with bail set at $25,000.

In Massachusetts, police are investigating a reported kidnapping that involved a vehicle pursuit from Boston to Milton. Officers responded to reports of a woman being held against her will in a moving vehicle on Talbot Avenue. The driver led police on a chase through the Blue Hills Reservation and Interstate 93 before being stopped by Massachusetts State Police in Milton. During the pursuit, the female occupant reportedly made gestures indicating distress. A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with multiple motor vehicle offenses, while the initial kidnapping report remains under investigation.
