Police investigate shooting incidents in Amadora and Lisbon

Police in Portugal are investigating two separate incidents involving gunfire in the Lisbon metropolitan area. In Amadora, the Public Security Police (PSP) reported that an officer discharged a single shot in self-defense during an attempt to detain a 26-year-old man suspected of domestic violence against his father. According to officials, the suspect responded with hostility and threw stones at the patrol before attempting to flee through a window.

In a separate incident in the Olivais district of Lisbon, authorities recovered a Glock 19 pistol—a model used by security forces—along with two 6.35 mm pistols on the rooftop of a building. This discovery follows reports of a physical confrontation and gunfire in the area. The Judiciary Police (PJ) is currently investigating potential links between the weapons found in Lisbon and a shooting in the Falagueira area of Amadora, where shots fired from a vehicle struck an apartment building. No injuries have been reported in either incident.
