Police investigate spa-related extortion and assault in Bengaluru and Kochi

Authorities in Bengaluru have arrested six individuals, including four women, for allegedly extorting money from a spa owner. The group reportedly posed as media representatives and members of an organization to threaten the owner and assault staff. Following the incident, police seized ₹80,000 in cash, several mobile phones, and vehicles used during the crime. The suspects have been remanded to judicial custody.

In a separate investigation in Kochi, police are probing the ownership of multiple spas linked to Sreeraj, the primary suspect in a gang rape case in Kalamassery. Investigators suspect Sreeraj operates several establishments under other people's names, using alleged criminal connections to collect large sums of money and recruit women. Police are currently working to recover deleted CCTV footage from a lodge where the assault occurred.
