Police investigate supermarket robbery and clothing store theft in Italy
Police in Italy have responded to two separate criminal incidents involving theft and robbery.
In Ivrea, a man was arrested after robbing a supermarket using a toy revolver. The suspect, who partially covered his face, threatened a cashier to obtain cash before fleeing on a bicycle. Officers tracked the individual to a nearby garage, where he was caught attempting to spray-paint his bicycle to disguise its color. Authorities seized the toy weapon, the stolen cash, the clothing worn during the crime, and the spray paint. The suspect has been taken into custody by order of the Ivrea Prosecutor's Office.
In a separate incident, a clothing store on Corso Vittorio Emanuele was targeted by thieves who appear to have entered the premises using a specialized key without damaging the doors or windows. Surveillance footage shows the perpetrators systematically emptying shelves of clothing, notably ignoring electronics and cash registers. The theft was discovered by residents before the store opened. The State Police are currently investigating the incident using video evidence to identify the suspects.
