Police investigate suspected arson in Stockholm

Police are investigating a series of fires in the Södermalm district of Stockholm, specifically around the northern Hammarbyhamnen area. Authorities suspect the fires may have been intentionally set and are investigating the possibility of a pyromaniac.

The incidents have involved various objects, including trash cans, patios, a shed, and a boat. While the fires have been manageable for the fire department, the potential for spread has led investigators to look into charges of arson and aggravated arson.

Police spokesperson Carina Skagerlind stated that officers are examining the fires collectively to identify connections. Extra resources have been deployed to the area, and police are conducting door-to-door inquiries while requesting tips from the public.
