Police investigate theft of sensitive data from Madrid political office

The Spanish National Police are conducting a secret investigation into the theft of internal information from the People's Party (PP) of Madrid. The incident occurred at a law office located in the Chamberí district, specifically on Cea Bermúdez Street, which belongs to attorney Antonio Ángel Avilés García. Avilés García is a lawyer associated with the PP, focusing on internal party matters and disagreements between members.

According to reports, the perpetrators stole several hard drives, USB flash drives, and approximately 500 euros in cash. The stolen storage devices may contain sensitive documentation related to the political party. The attorney discovered the intrusion on a Monday morning, noting that the office was in disarray and ceiling panels had been displaced.

Investigators from the Madrid Provincial Information Brigade are working to determine the full extent of the theft and the specific content of the missing devices. Notably, there were no obvious signs of forced entry at the office door, leading authorities to consider the possibility that a duplicate key may have been used.
