Police investigate two robberies in Isernhagen and Altwarmbüchen

Two elderly women were targeted in separate robberies at their homes in Isernhagen and Altwarmbüchen on Monday, August 17, 2026. The Hannover Central Criminal Service is investigating both incidents and examining a potential connection between them.

The first incident occurred in Isernhagen on ‘Auf der Heide’ street between 10:50 AM and 11:00 AM. An 86-year-old resident was physically attacked by an unknown man and sustained minor injuries. The perpetrator fled the scene on a bicycle without taking any property.

The second robbery took place in Altwarmbüchen on Potsdamer Straße between 9:45 AM and 2:00 PM. During this attack, an 84-year-old woman was critically injured. The perpetrator searched the residence and stole high-value jewelry. The victim was discovered by her husband and subsequently hospitalized.

Police are searching for a suspect, noting that a man wearing a cap and riding a bicycle was observed near the Altwarmbüchen residence prior to the crime. Authorities are requesting that anyone who witnessed suspicious persons or vehicles in either area during the specified times contact the Hannover Criminal Service.
