Police investigate two separate animal cruelty cases in Czechia and Slovakia

Authorities in Czechia and Slovakia are pursuing legal action in two distinct cases of animal cruelty.

In the Czech Republic, investigators from Brno-venkov have completed an inquiry into the torture of a Cane Corso dog that occurred in May near Hostěnice. Two suspects, a young man and a middle-aged woman, have confessed to the crime. The investigation involved witness testimonies and forensic reports following the discovery of the burned dog by municipal police in Šlapanice.

In Slovakia, environmental police have charged a 32-year-old man from Bratislava with the intentional killing of a dachshund crossbreed. The incident reportedly occurred in October in the Podunajské Biskupice district following an argument between the man and his partner. Forensic examinations determined the animal died from blunt force trauma, which caused internal bleeding in the cranial and abdominal cavities.
