Police investigate two separate deaths of women in Ghana
Authorities in Ghana are investigating two separate incidents involving the deaths of women in different regions.
In the Ashanti Region, a 40-year-old trader identified as Anita was found dead in her room in Tanoso, Kwadaso Municipality. Residents discovered the body on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, after noticing a foul odor. Preliminary reports suggest she may have died approximately four days prior, having last been seen on Sunday. Local assembly member Aaron Nandie confirmed that police and environmental health officers attended the scene, and the body has been moved to a morgue.
In Accra, the body of a female bank employee in her late twenties was discovered in her rented apartment on a Saturday morning. Neighbors alerted the landlord after noticing her apartment door was left slightly open. Police reported observing injuries on the deceased, leading investigators to treat the case as a homicide. Authorities are looking into potential robbery as a motive, noting that the victim's mobile phone and laptop were missing. The Accra Regional Police Command is currently searching for a suspect who reportedly communicated with the victim shortly before her death.
