Police investigate two separate gender violence reports in Argentina

Authorities in Argentina are investigating two distinct cases of alleged gender-based violence.

In Chacra II, a 64-year-old taxi driver, Ramón Aníbal Pawlizki, was detained following allegations of unlawful deprivation of liberty and assault. A woman reported that Pawlizki attempted to force her into sexual relations and, upon her refusal, physically assaulted her and prevented her from leaving an apartment on Goytisolo Street. She was eventually able to escape with the assistance of a third party.

In Clodomira, a police officer identified by the surname Santillán has been accused of physical violence, threats, and intimidation against his former partner. The complainant alleges that the officer used his service weapon to intimidate her and caused damage to her vehicle during an outburst. The woman, who is currently experiencing a high-risk pregnancy, stated that the fear of retaliation prevented her from reporting the incidents sooner.
