Police investigate two separate homicides in Italy

Authorities in Italy are investigating two distinct violent incidents. In Torre Rinalda, near Lecce, the body of 78-year-old Antimo Mazzotta was discovered in a well on his rural property. Investigators found blood traces and signs of dragging near the well, suggesting the victim may have been struck with a blunt object inside his home before being moved outside. The well cover was found closed, and police are examining clothing found nearby to reconstruct the events.

In Naples, a man with a criminal record was fatally stabbed in the Decumani district. Emergency services arrived following reports of a brawl, only to find the victim deceased in a pool of blood. Police recovered several items from the scene, including latex gloves, a discarded balaclava, and a scooter with a concealed license plate. Investigators are currently determining whether the killing was a targeted hit or part of a larger criminal dispute.
