Police investigate weapon-related incidents in Helmond and Neerpelt

Police in Helmond, Netherlands, are searching for two teenage boys, approximately 16 years old, following a threat involving a weapon in the city center. The incident occurred on August 20 at Kamstraat. A suspect has been arrested, and a weapon was recovered from their home. Investigations revealed the object was a gas pressure weapon, which can be visually indistinguishable from a real firearm.

In Neerpelt, Belgium, a dispute at a cafe escalated into a shooting incident involving an alarm pistol. The altercation took place in the early hours of the morning near Kerkstraat and Kloosterstraat. While multiple shots were fired, no injuries were reported. The Limburg Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed that two individuals have been arrested, and the incident is believed to be a private conflict. Mayor Dennis Fransen condemned the use of weapons in public social areas.
