Police investigations advance in separate homicide cases in Peru and Nicaragua

In Peru, José Miguel Longa Turizo, 24, has confessed to his involvement in the murder of mobile phone technician Alex Coronado De la Cruz in the Sauce district. Longa Turizo stated the killing was part of an extortion plot coordinated with an accomplice, Neiber Alejandro Funez Salazar, 25. The suspects claim the operation was organized by Luis Alberto Gonzales Carabayo, who allegedly provided travel expenses and a stolen motorcycle used in the crime. The planning reportedly moved from Chiclayo to Lima before the execution.

In Nicaragua, police arrested Julio César Martinuz Ortiz, approximately 30, in connection with the killing of Gabriel Salvador Gómez Durán, known as ‘Zaranda’, in Bluefields. The victim was found with at least eight stab wounds to the face, chest, and leg. Investigators believe the attack followed an argument involving alcohol. Martinuz Ortiz was apprehended at a local gas station while attempting to flee in a taxi.
