Police investigations launched in Brazil for theft and political boycotts

Civil Police in Brazil have launched separate investigations into criminal activities in different regions. In Forquilhinha, authorities are investigating two young men, aged 18 and 20, suspected of involvement in thefts in Maracajá and Cocal do Sul. An operation involving 16 officers executed four search and seizure warrants, resulting in the seizure of mobile phones to assist in the inquiry. The investigation covers thefts from commercial establishments and vehicle thefts used during the crimes.

In Confresa, police are investigating the circulation of lists on social media and messaging apps that target professionals, entrepreneurs, and businesses for boycotts based on their political affiliations. At least five victims have filed police reports after being included in these lists without authorization. The investigation, supported by the Vila Rica Regional Police Intelligence Center and the Public Ministry, aims to identify those responsible for creating and distributing the material, which may constitute crimes such as threat, stalking, or incitement.
