Police kill suspect in Paraíba officer's murder during Acre operation

A joint operation between the Civil Police of Paraíba and Acre resulted in the death of Jorge Henrique dos Santos Fernandes, also known as “Jorge Negão,” during a confrontation in the rural area of Bujari, Acre.

Fernandes was a suspect in the September 2023 murder of Paraíba civil agent Jerry Adriano de Sousa Ribeiro. After being on the run for approximately two years, Fernandes was located through intelligence work. According to police, he reacted to the arrest attempt by engaging in an armed confrontation with officers, during which he was shot and killed. Other suspects were also detained during the operation.
