Police in Mauritius are conducting a manhunt following two violent nighttime robberies on the north coast on August 11. In Pereybère, three masked men armed with a pistol and knives entered a home, tied up a couple, and stole jewelry, phones, and cash totaling approximately Rs 380,000. One suspect used a victim's vehicle to visit an ATM before fleeing. A separate incident occurred in Pointe-aux-Biches, where a 68-year-old receptionist was assaulted in a villa.
In Cameroon, the Baham Gendarmerie completed a week-long anti-drug operation in the West Region between August 5 and August 12. The crackdown resulted in the arrest of 21 suspects, aged 22 to 60, and the seizure of narcotics valued at 12 million FCFA. Authorities also confiscated two handmade weapons and seven motorcycles during raids across Baham, Bandenkop, Bandjoun, Bamendjou, and Bafoussam.
