Police leadership changes in Savona and Alessandria

The Italian State Police has announced leadership changes for the police headquarters in Savona and Alessandria. Gaspare Calafiore has been appointed as the new Questore of Savona, succeeding Giuseppe Mariani.

Calafiore, who began his career in 1990, brings extensive experience from Sicily, having held roles in investigative units such as Digos, as well as managing immigration and public order. He previously served in various administrative and operational capacities in provinces including Enna, Siracusa, and Caltanissetta.

Giuseppe Mariani will transition to lead the Questura of Alessandria, following the retirement of Sergio Molino. Mariani has a long career within the State Police, having served in various capacities across Italy, including roles in Gela, Prato, Carrara, La Spezia, and Vercelli, as well as directing the Railway Police Compartment for Liguria.
