Police leadership intensifies security reviews in Jammu and Kathua

Police leadership in the Jammu region has conducted high-level security reviews and patrols to bolster law and order. In Kathua, Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma chaired a meeting focused on strengthening the border security grid. Key directives included monitoring infiltration routes, regulating drone activity, and increasing patrols in border and upper Kathua areas. Sharma also emphasized the establishment of joint checkpoints to monitor vehicles from border areas and national highways, alongside enhanced coordination to combat drug peddling and smuggling.

In Jammu city, Inspector General of Police Tejinder Singh led a foot patrol alongside senior officials to increase police visibility and engage with residents and shopkeepers. The patrol aimed to gather public feedback on safety concerns and strengthen community confidence in grassroots policing. Officials stressed the importance of heightened vigilance and close coordination between field units to ensure prompt responses to emerging security situations.
