Police Lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel Shot in São Paulo, Suspect Still At Large

On 27 June, tenente da Rota Ronickson Pimentel dos Santos, 39, was shot in the head while stopped at a traffic light in São Caetano do Sul, part of the ABC region of São Paulo. He was hospitalized and, after a month of intensive care, has shown clinical improvement.

Police investigations have identified the gunman as the rider of a motorcycle who fled the scene, with a passenger identified as Hércules da Costa Siqueira. Four individuals have been arrested for aiding the attackers, and six further suspects have died in police operations linked to the case. The investigation is being handled by the Department of Homicides and Protection of Persons (DHPP) of the Polícia Civil, but the primary shooter remains at large.
