Police make multiple arrests following fatal shootings in Scotland and Australia

Police in Scotland and Australia have made several arrests following separate fatal shootings.

In West Lothian, Scotland, a fourth person has been arrested in connection with the death of 35-year-old Billy Watson. Watson was killed in what is described as a ‘targeted’ shooting at Harestanes Road in Armadale on September 12. Three men, aged 57, 44, and 29, have already been charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice. A 20-year-old man was also recently arrested as enquiries continue.

In Sydney, Australia, a third person has been charged in relation to the mistaken-identity killing of 40-year-old Joshua Macdonald. Macdonald was shot outside a home in Merrylands West on September 2. Charges have been laid against an 18-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman, and a 21-year-old man. Police allege the shooting was part of organized crime activity and noted that this incident follows the recent fatal shooting of university student Marco Talia, which also appeared to be a case of mistaken identity.
