Police march to Śnieżka for child trauma awareness campaign
On September 25, 2026, police officers from the Jelenia Góra garrison participated in the national social campaign ‘Ile waży trauma?’ (How much does trauma weigh?). Participants marched to the summit of Śnieżka, the highest peak in the Karkonosze Mountains, to raise awareness regarding the issues faced by children experiencing violence, fear, neglect, and rejection.
As part of the symbolic gesture, participants carried a backpack representing the emotional burden and experiences of children growing up without adequate support or safety. The event included officials such as Deputy Inspector Piotr Urbaniak, Commander of the Karpacz Police Station, and Commander Dariusz Barczyński of the Second Police Station in Jelenia Góra, alongside representatives from the Karpacz Municipal Guard.
The initiative aimed to highlight the importance of adult vigilance in recognizing disturbing signals and responding to situations where children may be suffering, as victims often struggle to communicate their distress directly.
