Police officer attacked near Warsaw cybercrime bureau, assailant arrested

A 29‑year‑old man assaulted a Central Bureau of Cybercrime (CBZC) officer on the steps of the agency’s headquarters on Wąwozowa Street in Warsaw. He was armed with two batons and a machete, striking the officer in the head before fleeing.

Police quickly located the suspect near the Kabaty metro station, where he attacked two additional officers during the attempted arrest. One officer suffered a serious leg wound from a baton and was taken to hospital; the other two sustained minor injuries. The attacker was subdued and taken into custody. Motive remains unclear, though he claimed he was being persecuted and monitored by authorities. He now faces charges that could carry up to ten years in prison.
