Police officer charged with premeditated murder in colleague's death

Bharada Andika Rahmadani has been named a suspect in the killing of fellow officer Bharatu Laurentius Valdo Fernandez Lewai at the Ditpoludara headquarters in Pondok Cabe, South Tangerang. The incident occurred on Friday, October 16, 2026.

According to Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto of the Polda Metro Jaya, the suspect faces charges under Article 459 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder. Investigators are currently examining several factors, including the motive, the use of firearms, and the potential involvement of other individuals.

Legal counsel for the victim, Petrus Bala Pattyona, stated that the shooting may have been triggered by bullying. He noted that the suspect allegedly directed his anger toward the victim because the victim's peers had been bullying the suspect. Authorities are continuing to investigate these allegations of bullying and the psychological state of the suspect.
