Claudio Barrelier and suspects in Agostina Vega femicide, Córdoba

Fourteen‑year‑old Agostina Vega was murdered and dismembered on 23 May 2024 in the Cofico neighbourhood of Córdoba. Three men – Claudio Barrelier, Osvaldo Fassetta and Soledad Andreani – are detained on homicide and aggravated concealment charges, while a fourth suspect, Marianela Palmero, is being investigated.

Blood‑trace tests using luminol in Barrelier’s house revealed significant residues, especially in the bathroom, confirming the presence of the victim’s blood despite attempts to clean the scene. The investigation continues with additional forensic analyses of phones and other evidence.

Melisa Heredia, Agostina’s mother, remains in a fragile physical and psychological condition a month after the crime, under strict medical and psychiatric supervision. The case has attracted intense public attention and remains open as authorities pursue further leads.
