Police officer found dead in Agios Dimitrios

Authorities in Greece are investigating the mysterious death of a 34-year-old police officer belonging to the Narcotics Prosecution Department. The officer was found dead in his service vehicle in a parking lot on Voulagmeni Street in Agios Dimitrios.

The investigation follows a period of unexplained disappearance. The officer left his home in Neo Kosmos around 23:00 on a Sunday to report for duty, but his whereabouts remained unknown until his body was located late Monday night via mobile phone tracking. His partner, also a police officer, had reported him missing after he failed to return home and did not answer repeated calls.

Forensic experts estimate the time of death occurred approximately 10 to 12 hours before the body was discovered. Investigators are examining several unusual details, including a bottle of gin found inside the locked vehicle and the fact that the location where he was found was outside his usual routes. Police are currently reviewing security camera footage to determine what happened during the hours he was missing.
