Police officer helps lost 9‑year‑old in Inowrocław, Poland

A police officer from the Inowrocław criminal department, after finishing his shift on 20 June 2026, spotted a frightened 9‑year‑old boy standing on a street in only socks. The child had slipped out of his home while his mother was momentarily distracted. The officer approached the child, took him to his own apartment to ensure his safety, and alerted fellow officers who were already searching for the missing boy. The child required no medical assistance and was later reunited with his family, safe and unharmed.

The incident highlights the role of police officers in safeguarding community members beyond their official duties and underscores the importance of vigilance by both authorities and residents when children go missing.
