Police officer investigated after fatal crash in Chon Buri

A police officer is under investigation following a fatal traffic accident in the Saen Suk district of Chon Buri, Thailand. On October 4, a white SUV driven by the officer collided with a motorcycle carrying two students from Burapha University. One student died at the scene, while another was injured.

Reports indicate that after the collision, the officer allegedly left the scene to eat at a restaurant before eventually turning himself in to the Saen Suk Police Station. Witnesses claimed the driver appeared intoxicated and failed to assist the victims immediately following the crash. While the officer has been charged with reckless driving causing death, authorities have not yet released official results regarding alcohol or drug testing.

Public scrutiny on social media has pressured local authorities to ensure the investigation is handled transparently. Colonel Naratpong Udomsri, head of the Saen Suk Police Station, confirmed that legal proceedings have been initiated.
