Fatal road accidents reported in Kenya and Nigeria

Multiple fatal road accidents have been reported in Kenya and Nigeria.

In Kenya, a serious crash occurred at Kiboko along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway when a truck overturned onto a car. The incident left occupants trapped inside the smaller vehicle, prompting rescue efforts by local residents. This follows a series of recent accidents on the same highway, leading the Long Distance Drivers and Conductors Association of Kenya (LoDDCA) to urge motorists to exercise caution.

In Nigeria, a male passenger died in Lagos after jumping from a moving commercial Volkswagen bus in an attempt to escape. The vehicle reportedly veered into a median pole at Ogunlana Junction in the Surulere area. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) stated that preliminary reports suggest the driver was operating the vehicle recklessly and was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
