Police officer kills family members in Chetumal before suicide

Authorities in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, are investigating a shooting that left three people dead in a private residence on Tuesday night. Preliminary reports indicate that Donaciano “N”, an officer with the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) and the Transit Directorate, allegedly shot his wife and a 16-year-old daughter before turning the gun on himself.

Local residents alerted emergency services after hearing gunfire coming from a home on Sicilia Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, police forced entry into the locked residence and discovered the three bodies. The State Attorney General's office (FGE) arrived late Tuesday night to secure the perimeter and begin forensic investigations to confirm the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the attack.
