Police officer kills wife and himself in Drama, Greece

In the regional unit of Drama, a police officer fatally stabbed his wife, also a police officer, inside their home. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and, despite rapid emergency response and transport to a hospital, died while fighting for her life.

Later, authorities located the husband in a parked vehicle where he had shot himself with his service weapon. He was found dead at the scene. The incident, reported initially by the couple’s child who called the emergency centre, has shocked the local community and sparked a police investigation into the exact circumstances and any prior domestic violence concerns.

Both victims were members of the Hellenic Police, and the case is being examined by investigators to determine motive and any procedural implications for police conduct.
